MAHA SHAKTI CHALNEE INDRA MUDRA

This meditation was originally taught centuries ago. It has a breath rhythm and a hand mudra linked to the mantra. In the yogic scriptures, there are six pages written to tell the benefits of this single kriya. It allows you to control the senses and thoughts. It balances the life nerves of prana and apana so that your health is improved and the lung capacity is increased.

Once your lung capacity in normal breathing is over 700 cc’s, your personality changes. The extra capacity sends an increased vital force to the nervous system with each breath. Nerves that are strong give you patience. In this exercise, the body maintains a perfect equilibrium in carbon dioxide and oxygen exchange. The pressure on the tongue causes the thyroid and parathyroid glands to secrete.

1. Sit in Easy Pose. Inhale with a deep whistle through the mouth. The lips should be puckered like a beak. Exhale through the nose. Concentrate the sound at the Brow Point for 5 minutes. Just listen to the pure sound. Continue for 2 more minutes, but now mentally inhale Sat and exhale Nam with the whistle.

2. Come into Cobra Pose. Ideally your feet are together, arms are straight, and the hips are on the ground. From the hips to the head your spine creates a smooth ‘C’ curve. The shoulder blades move down the back, supporting and opening the chest and neck, and then your eyes focus at a point on the ceiling. However, this is an advanced posture and you can modify it as follows to protect your neck and lower back: Lie on the stomach with your palms flat on the floor under the shoulders, fingers spread wide.  Apply Root Lock, rotate the pelvis so the tailbone turns towards the ground, and elongate out of the lower back, shoulder blades drawing down.

Use the inhale to expand the ribcage and begin to arch the chest upward as you slowly straighten your arms, straightening only as much as you can without feeling compression in the lower back, and continuing to open the chest and stretch into the upper back. If this means that you only come to your forearms, or your arms are bent, that is fine. Resist the temptation to bend where you are already flexible.  Once the chest is open, with the shoulder blades supporting the chest this gives the head permission to go back and focus at a point on the ceiling.

Inhale through the nose and whistle out through the mouth for 3 to 5 minutes. Inhale and slowly relax down out of Cobra Pose. Rest for 2 minutes.

3. Lie on the back with the knees pulled to the chest. Hold them there with hands and fingers interlaced over the knees. Lift the head up, putting the nose between the knees. With the mouth closed, create the sound “hunnnnh” from the Navel Point. The vibrations will be felt in the nose and throat. Continue for 3 minutes.

4. Relax on the back with legs crossed on the ground as in Easy Pose. This creates a delicate pressure in the lower spine. Maintain the position for 5 minutes. If you feel this creates too much pressure in the lower back, cross the legs loosely. Try to get as much of the spine on the ground as you can, keeping the shoulders relaxed, chin to collar bone. If your hips are tight, use pillows under the knees. You can start with 3 minutes and build up to 5 minutes over time.

5. Sit in Easy Pose, hands on the shoulders, thumbs behind and fingers in front. Twist the torso from left to right, inhaling to the left and exhaling to the right. Synchronize the motion with the breath for 1 minute. Then sit on the heels and continue the exercise for 1 more minute. Inhale, hold briefly, exhale, and relax.

6. Still sitting on the heels, lean forward and put the forehead on the ground. Rest completely in this pose for 3 to 5 minutes.

Comments: You can practice exercise one for up to 31 minutes but it is a good idea to build up the time slowly over a period of weeks. After 15 minutes, you may experience some discomfort in your ears. After 31 minutes, you may experience some discomfort in your upper chest. These are signs of the glands gaining a new balance.

If you sincerely practice the first exercise for 31 minutes a day followed by the remaining exercises, this kriya could change your personality, your total lifestyle, and even your destiny for the better. If you experience some discomfort in the ears or upper chest, these are the signs of the glands secreting and gaining a new balance.

The Inner Workings of Attunements

 Reiju is the Japanese word for the initiation or attunement we perform within the Reiki system. Mikao Usui based the ritual of Reiju on Japanese esoteric existing practices, which he was practicing on himself .

With distance Reiki Attunement being on the rise – many students ask – How do I know I got the attunement – I didn’t feel anything. While others give stories of Visual colors – journeys and some just fall a sleep. Many masters say to focus on a deity and that we attain identification with the cosmos. While other masters tell us to do the Violet Breath and seek to be still.

It may just take you a lifetime to feel an attunement – I will probably say that – what ever Reiki method you practice, you can attune yourself to his life force and energy of the cosmos.

The spiritual energy and life force are the primary basis of the Reiki attunement. During this, new energy chakras are opened, expanded, and energy flow is increased. This causes certain changes in your thought process and opens up your mind to a new dimension of the universe.

I started with a mental purification – of sorts, I did start a few days before my attunements – eating tons of veggies, lighting candles and incense. I’m sure it looked like a scene from Grace & Frankie – where Lily Tomlins character dances around with sage & bells to get rid of spirits. No joke ! But I feel amazing calm. You can sit in a chair – my favorite way to get an attunement – but there isn’t any wrong way for a distance attunement.

When I received a Seikem (Egyptian shaman Reiki) Attunement in Sana Cruz, CA 1995, no one had even heard of such a thing. I had a heart opening exercise before the attunement. That experience was like no other. Your heart Chakra is opened to the omnipresence of God Love. That means you’re pretty high. But most importantly, you have no ego to speak of, and the veil is lifted of many life times. It is said you can get the same with one night inside a pyramid.

Another Reiki 11 & 11 attunement in Austin, TX around 2000 I sat in a chair with 6 others to receive our attunements. We got a handout of the Reiki 11 symbols and a brief description on how to use them. I really could only feel the breath as our Reiki Master walked around us and gave us the breath into our crown chakra.

My next Reiki Master attunement was a weekend yoga – Reiki retreat.(outside Houston TX -2013) Balancing the Chakras, stretching the spine and Learning the master symbols. I thought I was going to die and was having a plethora of feeling of buyers remorse. What a relief to move past my feelings and feel exhilarated at the close of the weekend. As for the Attunement – I was able to have visions of radiant colors of Purple and Pink with white crystals flowing towards me.

My path has lead me to the 9th degree Right Hand Reiki Grandmaster Attunement, from Sensei Joe – a 10th degree Grandmaster, a distance Attunement. (Dec 4, 2020) The 9th degree covers Reiki 1,11 & 11 – plus 4th to 9th degree. More symbols which can help with deeper healing and the use of an ancient prayer chant. Finally my Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training experience has paid off ! And the fact I love Chanting. I finished the course online and requested an attunement. With joy I received my Attunement. I was going to sit in a chair for the traditional attunement. Of course – my sweet Sasha ( 2 yr old Pitbull-Mastiff female) joined me. 432Hz – Angelic Reiki Music was playing – White Candles lit, Crystals in a grid design and Nam Champa incense flowing in my massage -Reiki room. I got comfortable laying down and closed my eyes after long deep breaths. My technique is usually whispers from angels and ancestors, which seems to work for me. On this occasion Sasha gave me a nudge and I started receiving Reiki Symbols flowing into my body. This was just what I wanted – since I very visual – was to SEE the symbols. ! Each Chakra color was vibrant and my hands became warmer with each breath.

Finishing up all reiki attunement to be followed by a strict 21-day self-healing process. I’m back on my Vegan diet, drinking nearly a gallon of water daily and giving myself time to process this attunement as we are coming up on December 20th, The Day the Sun will shine brightly on all of us for an Attunement from the Heavens.

In a Reiki session, the practitioner is seeking to transmit Universal Life Energy to the client. The intention is to create deep relaxation, to help speed healing, reduce pain, and decrease other symptoms you may be experiencing.

I started my journey in Austin, TX – while a massage therapist – I wanted to add to my practice more healing techniques. I started with Usui Reiki Traditional 1 & 11 class. then later the Master Keiki Attunement.

I Loved how Reiki felt on myself when I went for group Reiki sessions. It would bring out emotions and healing journeys. Soon I started to do Reiki Meditations for myself using the master symbol and learning the power between Heaven and Earth.

As you may join me in this meditation – find yourself in an easy pose, resting your hands on your lap and start to take a few breaths in. remember, this is not competition. as you close your eyes- start to visualize the Reiki symbol you are going to use. and remember to chant the name three time- either silently or out loud. Now you can see a bright light reach your crown chakra and enter – as it goes down your chakras and stays in your heart chakra for a moment – or more before going down to your root chakra and down into the earth. Now you can imagine the connection between Heaven and Earth. Now you can feel and absorb the heavenly energy in your body and aura.

Start every morning with this connection to Heaven filling you with Light and Love.
